Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines


  • Manuscripts need to be in three hard copies and a soft copy (Microsoft Word) together with an abstract of 250 words according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
  • Abstract of 250 words should also be on a separate page with 3 to 5  key words
  • All the articles/reviews should also be sent via  email as an attached Microsoft World Document on
  • Authors are requested to include with each copy of the manuscript a cover sheet, which shows the title of the study, the author’s name, clearly depicting the principal author, correspondence author/s  and the institutional affiliation,
  • Articles and reviews for submission must be original work and must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Article should be between 5000 and 8000 words in length
  • If the article includes images, please include them as separate files.
  • Review should normally be between 1000 and 2000 words.
  • All parts of the manuscripts should be typewritten and printed on one side of the paper, font size 12, Times New Roman, left aligned, double spaced with margins of at least one inch on all sides
  • Manuscripts including tables, figures, illustrations and references, should be prepared in accordance with the publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th Edition).
  • Tables and figures should not be embedded in the next, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short description title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should also be completely labeled.

All authors submitting their works to the Academic Journal of Social Sciences (AJSS) of  LGU for publication as original articles attest that the submitted works represent their authors’ contributions and have not been copied or plagiarized in whole or in part from other works.

The authors acknowledge that they have disclosed all and any actual or potential conflicts of interest with their work or partial benefits associated with it.

 In the same manner, the AJSS is committed to objective and fair double-blind peer-review of the submitted for publication works and to prevent any actual or potential conflict of interests between the editorial and review personnel and the reviewed material.

Any departures from the above-defined rules should be reported directly to the Editors-in-Chief, who is unequivocally committed to providing swift resolutions to any of such a type of problems.
