Ms Translation and Validation of the Self-Compassion Scale in Urdu Language for Mothers of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Abstract
Measuring self-compassion in mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder is important because self-compassion helps to cope with the stressor of life. This needs a valid and reliable measure to assess self-compassion. The present research aimed to translate and validate self-compassion scale for mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder in Pakistani national language URDU. The sample consisted of 204 mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder. Confirmatory factor analysis showed good indices of fit with composite scores as well as subscales. It is concluded that Urdu version of SCS is a reliable instrument for assessing self-compassion in mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder.
