Abstract

Islam addresses every aspect of  life. Whether it’s family life, the economy or the society, or even whether a person is at home or travelling. Rules pertaining to travelling are briefly discussed in Qurān and Hadith but in this era, Tourism is facing many challenges as it has become associated with entertainment alone, which often tends to oppose the fundamental Islamic principles. As a result of this, Muslims who hold their faith dear, tend to avoid doing this kind of tourism as it is against their personal and religion values.The question arises whether current tourism is as per the Islamic Terms and manners and therefore fulfilling the needs of Muslims who undertake tourism for this reason. The question also arises as to what are the fundamental principles (Terms and manners) of Islamic tourism are, what are its aims and what can be the practical causes of Islamic tourism.In addressing the need and importance of Tourism according to Islamic teaching,  the fundamental and underlying principles are evident in Islam. As there are life values outlined by Islamic teachings such as: Halal earning, means and method of communication, accommodation, tourism also has fundamental principles which are outlined within the Islamic Tradition. In this research article the basic principles of Tourism according to Islamic guideline, have been discussed.
