Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal delivered his famous seven lectures "The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam" for the sake of resurgence and renaissance of Muslims. All the addresses are connected with one another due to continuity of topic. In his first lecture”Knowledge& Religious Experience“he pointed out that religion is never outdated and it is also a source of knowledge. Moreover, this source of knowledge is more reliable, more durable and leads a man towards the point, where no material knowledge can take him. Though many explanatory studies of these addressed have been presented but they are not flawless, short and hazy. On the otherhand, Dr.Muhammad Asif Awan has written a complete explanatory book over the address which is comparatively better among all other explanatory studies. In this article basic thought of the first address and its explanation by Dr. Asif Awan is analyzed critically.
