Abstract
Mir Taqi Mir was a great poet, saint and Philosopher of subcontinent. He is renown as "God of Poetry" in Urdu Literature specially in the History of "Urdu Ghazal". His poetry is real expression of grief and bereavement.He illustrated experiences of love, amour, affliction and commiseration in his poetry with great integrity and simplicity. A beautiful adulteration of philosophy, mysticism and realism is present in his cogitation. Emotions of wistfulness, distress and torment in his poetry are the deduction of his personal and social life. His poetry is distinguished anthology of lunacy, infatuation, esctasy, sense of separation, wisdom and allurement. Due to these peculiarities Mir is conceded the "Artist of pathos" in Urdu poetry.
