Urdu Research (Meaning, Scope and Tradition)
Abstract
Urdu language is endowed with the splendid tradition of research and compilation. Inquisitiveness and research are ingrained in human nature. A person tries to explore the phenomena he encounters. Research equips a person an ability to discuss between genuine and fake. It is an ancient craft. The Greeks were the first to introduce this skill systematically. In Urdu research, attempts were made to add to the known facts to take it to the next level. In this article meaning, definition, importance and usefulness of research and its progressive evolution have been discussed with special reference to Urdu language.
