Abstract
Allama Muhammad Iqbal got fame in literature through his poetic work. He is also considered thinker and reformist of Muslims of Sub-Continent. But, comparitvely his seven addresses, known as "The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam" are not given importance as they were demanded. These addresses have capacity to shape the religious Thought of Muslims keeping in view the needs of the modern times. This article throws light over the motivation and driving force for Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal behind these addresses.
