Review Process and Policy

Review Policy & Process

The peer-review process plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality, credibility, and academic integrity of Noor-e-Tahqeeq. It enables authors to refine their work through constructive feedback and editorial guidance. Reviewers accepting to evaluate manuscripts bear an ethical and professional responsibility to uphold the highest standards of scholarship. Reviewers are expected to:

  • Immediately inform the editor if they lack the subject expertise necessary to review the manuscript competently.

  • Accept the review assignment only if they can complete it on time. In case of unavoidable delays, they must promptly inform the editor.

  • Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents. Reviewers must not use any part of the manuscript’s data or content for personal or academic benefit.

  • Avoid discussing the manuscript’s content with others unless authorized by the editor for expert consultation. Disclosure of any part of the manuscript before publication is strictly prohibited.

  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest, whether personal, financial, intellectual, professional, political, or religious. Reviewers must also declare if the manuscript overlaps with their own ongoing or previous research.

  • Maintain objectivity and impartiality. Personal biases or hostility towards the author(s) must be avoided. Critiques should be scholarly, constructive, and focused on academic merit.

  • Notify the editor if the manuscript appears to duplicate existing research, contains plagiarized material, or includes fabricated data. Ethical concerns, such as harm to vulnerable groups (e.g., children, women, disabled, elderly, etc.), should also be reported.

  • Submit evaluations using the prescribed review form provided by the editor, including detailed and well-justified comments and recommendations.

  • Understand that the editor may consider multiple reviews and may ask for revisions. However, the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of a manuscript lies solely with the editor. Reviewers may not contest the editor’s decision in any forum.
