Abstract

Dr. Sultana Bakhsh is a prominent scholar in the field of research and textual editing, recognized as an authoritative critic in modern editing practices. Her contributions extend beyond the research and compilation of classical texts, as she has also established principles and standards for contemporary research and editing methodologies. The tradition of Urdu text compilation, initiated in the early 20th century by pioneers such as Maulvi Abdul Haq, Hafiz Mahmood Sherani, Maulana Imtiaz Ali Arshi, Malik Ram, Rasheed Hassan Khan, Dr. Jameel Jalibi, and Dr. Waheed Qureshi, deeply influenced Dr. Sultana Bakhsh.
