Abstract
Amar Ayyar is the most interesting and colourful character of Dastan-e-Ameer Hamza. He is the prince of all tricsters, unsurpassed in cunning and deceit. He is excessively greedy. He possessed many gifts like Sulaimani topi (a magical cap) a zumbil (a magical bag). Despite all the these, He is the most trustworthy companion of Ameer Hamza. In this article the importance of this character is studied and some noteable aspects are brought under discussion.
