Abstract
"This article describes the poetic diction of a renowned poet Majeed Amjad with a critical reference of his remarkable poem "Afsanay". In the above mentioned poem he presents some traditional, historical and romantic characters and tales, wishing to be one of them so that his love tale may also become immortal. His utilization of fascinating similes, striking metaphors and fabrication of appropriate superb words reflect poet's inner feelings, passions and keen observation in a quite masterly way as compared with his predecessor's poetic diction. This poem also possesses a unique quality of eloquence and rhetoric."
