Abstract
So many terms of criticism are being used to comprehend the philosophies of analysing creative literary writings. Modernism is an effective term of criticism that shows different trends of literary world. The definition and scope of this term is so vast that it covers all social disciplines of knowledge. In this research article an effort has been made to explore different aspects of this term. It has been accepted as a unique cluster of artistic movements and theories. Urdu criticism has been affected greatly by modernism. It may be known as a point of view of a critic to express his views about the worth of a creative literary writing. Modernism has played vital role for a reader of literature to understand the actual worth of any kind of literature.
