Abstract
Mirza Ghalib is a great poet of urdu literature. Humour was a particular quality of his temperament which is found in his poetry, letters and conversation. He makes much use of his sense of humour in different situations. That is why, Maulana Hali gave Mirza Ghalib the title of 'Haiwan-e-Zarif'. In this article, elements of humour and satire found in Ghalib's poetry, letters and in his sayings, have been discussed.
