Abstract
Brig. (R) Hamid Saeed Akhtar has introduced a new angle in Ghalib studies. He is of the opinion that most of the Ghalib studies, particularly the study of his verses, are farfetched and erroneous. He has put forward this thesis in this article and has provided some examples in support of his assertions. He has also published a book Titled "Sud Sher e Ghalib" (100 verses of Ghalib) wherein he has propouded the theory that most of the Ghalib Sharheen have been wide of the meaning when explaining Ghalib's verses.
