Structural Anlysis of One of the Faiz's Poem
Abstract
Ferdinand de Saussure laid the foundation of
Structuralism, pointing out the fact that language
is neither a transparent medium to peep into, nor
it is a system to give names to things. According
to him, language is a system of associated signs,
codes and conventions which are directly related
with deep inside study of the culture and
civilization of a society. Since its beginning,
Structuralism has brought immense changes in
the study of linguistics. In this article, the
structural critique and analysis of a poem,
"Dareecha" by Faiz Ahmad Faiz is brought into
lime light.
