Abstract
Shakir Kandan is an armyman himself. He is the person who has a lot of researchbased articles and books on his credit. He is known as a distinguished poet, critic, researcher and editor of a Urdu literary magazine. He wrote more than thirty books on various topics in Urdu and Punjabi. Shakir Kandan research work in this regard is very important. He threw light on the achievements of those armymen who paid there attention on writings in prose and poetry are permanent part of history of urdu literature. This article attempts to explore the basic writings of Shakir Kandan about the achievements of those writers who served in army before or after 1947.
