Abstract
Faiz Ahmed Faiz is a renowned progressive poet as well as a critic. He served in army for four years. He was also a journalist. He was the part of British army during Second World War. He reached the rank of Major and then he became Lieutenant Colonel. His poetry is a combination of sorrows of beloved and sorrows of society. He is recognised by his unique poetic diction. There are so many references in his poetry about the cruelities, brutalities and sorrows of the society of his age.
