Abstract
Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal has put forwarded his legendry work for the renaissance of Muslims in the form of seven lectures, titled "Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam". The sixth lecture "The Principle of Movement in the Structure of Islam" deals with "Ijtihad" its importance and need of the hour. This lecture also provides psychological motivation to the Muslims to think and reshape their thought regarding contemporary affairs of Islam. Moreover, detailed history of reluctance for Ijtehad in Islam is also discussed in it. Keeping in view the importance of this lecture, it has been translated into Urdu to facilitate the Urdu readers to understand its content.
