Abstract
The Origin and development of Urdu has been a source of dispute among the historians and researcher s of Urdu language. But all of them agree that it is based on the dialects which were spoken around Delhi. Some attribute it to the Punjabi, others Khari boli, Birj Basha or Purbi. Mewati is also one of the dialects which were spoken in the areas of the West North and South of Delhi. Its contribution and influence on the origin and development of Urdu language has largely remained neglected. In this Para an effort has been made to trace the influence of Mewati language on Urdu.
