Abstract
This essay aims at introducing the most significant movement in the history of Urdu literature. I have tried to lay the perspective to make the movement understandable with ease and in comfort. The analysis will bring up the point that progressivism has never died down but the PWA, however, could not work with all that ferver, for some length of time. The writers have been creating progressive literature even in that situation. It has also been an endevour to suggest the role of modern writers pertaining to progressive literature especially when PWA is also existing formally these days.
