Abstract
Muhammad Ali Siddiqui is a renowned critic of progressive movement in Urdu literature. His scientific way of criticism possesses a clear and vivid opinion about any topic which he discusses. He wrote about modern theories like structuralism, post structuralism, modernism and post modernism as well. He is of the view that literature should be true replica of life, that is why, global issues of humanity gets maximum room in his whole work of criticism. His moderate approach not only expanded the circle of Urdu criticism but also supported the doctrine of progressive movement after the creation of Pakistan.
