Abstract
The independence of Pakistan and India from British Raj was a great event of the Sub-continent. The people of Indo-Pak struggled for this many years and presented great sacrifices in this noble cause. People from all aspets of life contributed in both sides of borders to get independence. The history will not forget struggle of these people and always remember it n golden words. Urdu poets played a leading role in promotion of freedom movement. Urdu poets agitated of every inhuman step of British colonial power. Some of the eminent Urdu writers, which occur in frontline of freedom struggle. Similarly there are lot of names of poets, journalists and fiction writers who's writing played an important role in the freedom. Here we highlighted the role of Urdu literature in the movement of freedom.
