Abstract
Literature or Language is the name of transferring of feelings and thinking in a proper way. Literature is the source of passionated people as well.The War of Independence 1857 ended in disaster for the people of India especialy for Muslims. It was time,Urdu press and Urdu leadership made part of main street India as well as mainstream media.Urdu played the most important role in the freedom Movement.Urdu journalists, poets and writers sacrificed their lives,careers and comforts for the freedom of their country. Several Urdu writers were imprisoned and several others were hanged. In this article it will be analyzed the role of Urdu in freedom movement.
