Abstract

Rumor is spreading of a fabricated story that has no basis in reality, or exaggerating a story or giving no weight to a story that is related to reality. It aims to influence the psyche of the common people of a region or province, in addition to achieving political, collective, economic and military goals in one country or in many countries or globally happens. The main purpose of spreading some rumors is to create hatred, envy and hatred in the hearts of human beings. You have to trample on and humiliate people. In view of the different forms of rumor, the Shari'ah prescribes different punishments for them. Rumors spread on the battlefield are an exception. Such rumors are usually spread to thwart the enemy. Another name for this is psychological warfare which is actually a defensive war. In Islam, it is counted in the context of Jihād for the sake of Allah.Psychological warfare is one of the basic principles of the call of the prophets. Every prophet has fought a psychological war against his opponents. The Holy Prophet also fought a psychological war against his enemy in different ways. In this research paper, where the forms of rumors and their Shariah rules are discussed, the prophetic strategy regarding psychological warfare is also explained in detail so that in its perspective, one can get proper guidance for the modern da'wah requirements.
