Abstract

People are attributed to a certain country or a nation when we just have a bird eye view on their dresses. Dresses are really a true depiction of the people, their thoughts and ideologies, their convictions and beliefs and their culture and civilization. Dresses prevalent in a particular nation are held in high esteem by the nation and to wear them is considered as the standard of nationalism and patriotism. But the modernity with the help of colonialism perished away all the standards of religiosity, nationalism and patriotism. Modernity attacked the cultures of the nations through dresses and for the purpose the modernists designed the dresses after their own heart and ideals that were definitely against the dogmas of the natives. Now modern people particularly modern women are found all over the world and are fond of modernity and modernity can be penetrated through branded dresses specially and purposely designed. The only purpose of the branded dresses was to demolish the identity of the Islamic culture and civilization. This paper is to discuss analytically the causes and effects of the branded dresses on the Muslim women and the Islamic injunctions therein.
