Imam Nisai’s Methodology to Describe the Text

Abstract

Imam Nisaei was a famous traditionist of 3rd century. He played a good role in the Hadith Sciences. He complited famous book named “Alsunan”. In this article the style of Imam Nisaei has been described. In Hadiths Imam Nissai narrates one Hadith in his sunnan repeatedly and derives meanings to find the solution of the problem by establishing new chapter on this Hadith. Moreover, when insertion is made in the text of the Hadith he points out it. The special feature of style of the Imam Nissai is that he gives reason for insertions the narrator is alone in his narration from his greater source (Sheikh), though Hadith becomes famous due to another method. If there is any dissatisfaction or anxiety in the text of the Hadith, he explains it logically. Sometimes, Hadith becomes famous in itself but it is said to be weaker due to some words. In such situation its weakness is described. Similarly if there is any difficult word in any Hadith, he explains its meanings in easier words, so that it could be easily comprehended.
