Shariah Ruling Regarding Wearing Yellow Color

Abstract

Islam is a religion which is based upon human nature. The
teachings and commandments of Islam are in accordance with nature. It
provides guidance about different aspects of life in depth. According to
Islam, the basic principle regarding colors of clothes for men and women is
that all colors are permissible except where there is a Shar’I text forbidding
a certain color for women or men. Religious texts encourage the wearing of
certain colors and forbid the wearing of other colors. The objective of this
write up is to trace Shariah commandments and rulings about wearing of
yellow color. This is an analytical study of Hadith and opinions of classical
Muslim scholars about wearing of yellow color for men and women.
Yellow colors is permissible for men and women, however, in specific
occasions it is disliked for men.
