Abstract

Moral values are crux of alla the religions of the world. Morality is at the base of every religion. The heart and soul of Islamic teachings is also human moral values. The holy Quran and Hadith consistently lay emphasis on good morals and morality. Allama Iqbal's poetry, ideology and philosophy are deeply affected by humanistic moral values. In Allama Iqbal's poetry, ideology, and philosophy the strong effect of humanistic moral values can be observed everywhere. Allama Iqbal made basic human rights the subject of his poetry and public addresses. Iqbal's philosophy of 'self' (khudi) is also built on human care and human values. Allama Iqbal in his poetry emphasized the human values like; fear and hope, gloom and joy, modesty and self respect, continuous struggle, equality, unflinching faith, compassion and mercy, and love. These values lead to human spiritual development/elevation/progress. These are the very human values that are observed as the pivot of Allama Iqbal's poetry. So, Allama Iqbal brought the essential spirit of Islam to the people by teaching them supreme moralistic standards.
