Abstract

It is a miserable reality that honor killing cases are unusually getting increased these days, specially in our community. It is, no doubt, a fact that if one’s honor is damaged, its emotional reaction is a natural thing. But in such a situation our religion doesn’t encourage to kill someone without sufficient evidences. Islam has a regular system of trialing such a charge. If we see backward, we come to know that it is not a new practice. We find such cases even in the time of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). So, it seems necessary that it should be studied that how had such cases been dealt by the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) and afterwards by his companions.
