Abstract

The Holy Qur’an is the last divine book of Allah that provides complete guidelines for every walk of life. The Holy Qur’an declares that a happy and contented life is the best asset and it is clear that peace is the principal constituent of a satisfactory life. The comprehensive study of Holy Qur’an reveals that peace is among one of the greatest blessings of Allah; because, while discussing his favors and blessings upon the tribe of Quresh Allah presents peace as one of his great blessings. This article endeavors to bring forward the Qur’anic concept of peace, why is peace claimed to be one of the great blessings, how much depth the Qur’anic teachings have in establishing peace? And whether the Qur’anic guidelines regarding peace are all-encompassing or not? In the midst of violence, war and terror around the modern world, what does the holy Qur’an have to say about peace and hormony Muslims are considered violent due to the Holy Qur’anic verses of Jihad, how much true this perception is?
