Critical Study of Opinions of Jurists about Call for Prayer inside the Mosque

Abstract

Azān is an important symbol of Islam whose melodious verses' voice differentiate  Islam fron other religions. To call for prayer and Juma started in 2nd Hijri in the city of Madina and call for five times prayer was delivered on the roof of Mosque of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Hazrat Ameer Mu’āwiyah (d680) built minarets beside the mosques to let voice heard far away during his reign, then call for five times prayer started to be delivered on those minarets and Juma prayer's second call began to be given on the main gate when the Scholar sat on the pulpit. In 1900, When Speaker started to be used, Prayer call started to be given in the mosque on speaker and now Ummah is following it that call for five times prayer is given inside the mosques. In this article, the openions of jurists have been discussed about  the matter of delivering call for prayer inside the mosques.
