The Basis of Islamic Welfare State (In the Light of Seerah)

Abstract

First of all Islam has given the concept of Islamic welfare state. This state gives protection of lives, property and honour of its people. It does not create differentiation on the basis of colour, race, religion, language and area etc anong its subjects. All kinds of facilities like food, cloth, residence, education, treatment and justice are provided to the people in an Islamic welfare state. The base of an Islamic welfare state is Quran and Sunnah. The basic principles of an Islamic welfare state are sovereignty of God, consultation, justice, equality, honesty, fulfilment of an agreement and ordering to do good deeds and forbidding the evils etc. The Holy Prophet PBUH organized an Islamic welfare state that is called the state of Madinah. So the basic principles, instructions and qualities of an Islamic welfare state are well known all over the world. This article describes the meanig, concept, importance and basic principles of an Islamic welfare state.
