Abstract

The teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) greatly emphasize upon the morality. All the religions of the world are based on
the fundamental, moral and ethical values. The societies which abide by the moral laws prosper and those who deviate from them ultimately fail as a whole. The enforcement of ethical values in any society is essential for the well being of its people and the overall construction of that society. If a society fails to induce these golden values in true letter and spirit, will not be able to deliver to its people in its true potential. The application of the term “peace” on individual level means to ensure a secure life and create an environment which will lead to a prosperous society that will guarantee peaceful coexistence and harmony in that society. It is the need of hour to present and adopt the Islamic concept of global peace, justice and equality to the world which is premised on mutual cooperation and respect for human life and provide a counter-narrative to the globally prevalent distorted concepts of freedom of religion, creed, speech and freedom of thought. This paper addresses this important theme in the light of the model state of Medina constituted 14 centuries before.
