ANALYTICAL STUDY OF CONCEPT OF TAWḤĪD DERIVED FROM THE QURANIC VERSES MENTIONED IN SOURCES OF TAṢAWWUF

Abstract

This paper examines the concept of Tawḥīd and Divine Attributes in the Fundamental Treatise of Taṣawwuf known as Kitāb-al-Luma, al-Risālah al-Qushayriyah, Kashaf al-Maḥjūb and Futūḥ-al-Ghayb. The authors of these books have been acknowledged as the specialist and authority on the subject of Islamic Taṣawwuf with great impact on human being. Employing analytical method, we can visit how Divine Attributes (ṣifāt) and Oneness of Allah (Tawḥīd) have been discussed incorporating different dimensions. This paper concludes that there is no conflict of Ṣūfī thought in relation to Qurān and Sunnah. What the purity of thought about Allah Almighty Ṣūfī has is remarkable and unique. It is not just a concept but they used to create a world with pragmatic approach leaving impact upon human thought and behavior. All these books have guidance in this regard providing spiritual teaching with multiple dimensions either apparently or esoteric one projecting full-fledged paradigm of Oneness of Allah, exercising a Ṣūfī journey towards Ultimate Reality.
